Jeddah: Tamer beat Saad Group by 37 runs as dashing half century by Syed Mohammad Afroz while inform batsman Ashfaq hit quick fire 60 runs in 24 balls, while Saad Group’s Ghulam Mustafa’s all round performance with the bat & ball went in vain as Saad Group lost the match in the 7th week matches of Division-I summer league, which is organized by Jeddah Cricket Association.
Tamer’s captain Anwar Khan elected to bat first after winning the toss against Saad Group was proved correct as their top order batsmen performed with bat well, they scored 204-6 in their allotted 18 overs, dashing openers Syed Mohammad Afroz hit 50 runs off just 20 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 4 boundaries in his strokeful innings, while his partner Jawed Ahmed scored 24 runs, Ashfaq who is in good form with the bat in this tournament hit 60 runs off 24 balls with the help of five sixes & four boundaries, Abdullah had contributed 33 runs while skipper Anwar Khan unlucky to be out for just 7 runs. Ghulam Mustafa 2-76, Saber 2-27, Riaz 1-46 & Abdullah 1-29.
Saad Group made 167 all out in 17 overs, Ghulam Mustafa scored highest 68 runs off 29 balls, he hit six sixes & five boundaries, Sadeer made 26, Umar 10, Abdullah 9 while Khalid & Kamran had scored 8 runs each. Syed Mohammad Afroz, Anwar Khan & Ashfaq had taken two wickets each, while Omar, Mubashir & Amjad had taken one wicket each for Tamer.
